Nancy guides us through the process of thinning a striped polymer clay veneer using a pasta machine. Starting at the #1 setting, she carefully reduces the thickness to the #4 setting.
Instructions to reducing the thickness of a stripe veneer in the pasta machine:
- Prepare Your Veneer:
- Place your striped polymer clay veneer between two sheets of baking paper. This will help keep the clay clean and prevent it from sticking to the rollers.
- Set the Pasta Machine:
- Begin by setting your pasta machine to the #1 setting, which is the thickest.
- Pass the Veneer Through:
- Gently feed the clay sandwich (veneer between baking paper) through the machine at the #1 setting.
- Gradually Reduce Thickness:
- Change the setting to #2 and repeat the process, passing the clay through the machine.
- Continue this process, moving through the settings until you reach the #4 setting.
- Check the Veneer:
- After each pass, check the veneer to ensure the stripes remain even and the clay is smooth.
- Final Check:
- Once you’ve reached the #4 setting, your striped veneer should be uniformly thinned and ready for the next step in your project.
